Lockheed Martin is seeking a Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer, Subject Matter Expert (SME), to provide direct support to a very exciting Program’s System Performance IPT.

The GNC Engineer efforts will include;

- target tracking and navigation algorithm design,
- simulation development,
- performance assessment, and
- simulation VV&A.

Knowledge of navigation, tracking, stochastic processes, and Kalman filtering is required. Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and C++ programming is also important to this position.

Selected candidate must hold an active Secret clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years.

Orlando is home to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, and SeaWorld. Orlando is also home to the second largest University in the US, the University of Central Florida (UCF). Where can you get to from Orlando? Orlando is about an hour's drive from Cocoa Beach and the "space coast" to include NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. Tampa is about 1.5 hours from Orlando. West Palm Beach is about 2.5 hours to the south and Jacksonville is about 2 hours to the northeast. Atlanta, GA is 6 hours to the northwest.

Job Qualifications

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform some combination of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) assignments:

Perform Missile 6DOF simulation design and analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) design and simulation analysis.

Develop and analyze guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms.

Design target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association.

Demonstrate experience with optimal state estimation filters such as KALMAN and Extended KALMAN filter (EKF).

Perform design and analyses of terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation.

Contribute to the definition of an operational flight program (OFP) with integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulations.

Support preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.

Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation.

Demonstrate mastery of MATLAB and C/C++ programming.

Must hold and active Secret clearance with a background investigation within the last 5 years.

Job Skills

Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience is desired.

Flight software integration and verification experience is also a plus.

Experience with Embedded Software, RF/EO knowledge and experience is also a plus.
