Applies professional technical knowledge and experience of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions, solve complex problems, interpret blueprints and manufacturer manuals to restore equipment to operational condition and specification. Work at this level typically requires a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. Additional job duties include but are not limited to: performs corrosion control, preflight and post-flight maintenance inspections, miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, tow and jack aircraft and enter maintenance records of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily. Uses experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, as well as excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedules. Provides guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft maintenance and/or modification efforts. May require travel when directed. Tools required. Candidate must be able to obtain US DoD Secret Clearance, DHS Background Investigation as well as other relevant pre-employment screens.

*Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

*Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Job Qualifications

7 years experience on the P-3 type airframe.

Candidate must have Airframe and powerplant certificate.

Skilled in trouble shooting all systems and related subsystems for the airframe and power plants.

Job Skills

Ability to perform O and D level repairs on the airframe and O & I level on T-56 type engine and 54H60-77 props.
